Desperate Londoner pleads: “Please all put knives down” after teen is killed on latest night of carnage

A MOURNER begged “please all put knives down” in a tribute to a London teen stabbed to death yesterday as the capital’s bloodbath rages on.

The Londoner’s heartfelt plea was placed with flowers at the murder scene where the teen was fatally stabbed after a brawl in Purley, South London around 9.10pm on Thursday.

Another teenager was found nearby with stab wounds and rushed to hospital after the stabbings on busy Brighton Road.

Cops found a third male in his late teens at nearby Purley Railway Station, who was taken to hospital and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The unnamed mourner’s peace plea spoke for all Londoners after at least 34 knife deaths in the capital so far this year.

‘SO SORRY’

The tribute read: “RIP. So sorry. Please all put knives down.”

Footage showed paramedics battling to save the victim’s life, but he died at the scene at 9.50pm.

Two other teenagers were arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon.

The killing followed another week of carnage in the capital, with a man shot dead in Wembley on Friday night and a second man gunned down on Sunday yards away.

‘HEARTS BROKEN’

Grieving mourners who lay flowers at the scene of last night’s stabbing in Purley cleared up the murder victim’s blood that was still on the pavement.

One described the dead teen as “loving” and “funny.”

She said: “He was a beautiful boy. He was a very family boy. He loved his family.”

One tribute read: “RIP Kai. I’ll never forget you bro.Them old lodge memories. Love you xxx.”

Another said: “Oh Kyle, our hearts are broken. Love from Liza & Troy.”

A homeless man disarmed one knifeman at the scene as he walked past last night.

‘NINE-INCH BLADES’

Graham Laban, 52, said he tackled the man, who had two nine-inch blades, after the teen was fatally knifed.

He said: “I saw the chap dead. I saw one come out of the alleyway with two knives.

“They were about eight or nine inches long. One blade was snapped at the end.

“I think that is what has been in his chest. I got the knife out of his hand.

I saw the chap dead. I saw one come out of the alleyway with two knives. They were about eight or nine inches long.

“The public were screaming and crying. He was there handcuffed and police arrested him.

“He came out of this alley with two big knives in his hand. He had them up in the air.

“They were two big knives. Two silver things. I pulled the knives out of his hand and kicked them in the doorway.

“The kid was already dead. He had no pulse.”

Footage showed paramedics battling to save his life, but he died at the scene at 9.50pm.

TURF WAR

An alleyway opposite and a parallel road remained cordoned off on Friday morning.

Muhammad, 48, a local fast-food restaurant owner, believed the stabbings were part of a turf war between rival gangs.

He said: “One of the guys and his friend, we used to see them a lot in this area.

“They were creating all sorts of trouble, being a nuisance. They were thinking this was their area.

“When they saw someone them they harassed them and said: “This is our area” .Those guys got driven out and we saw a new gang.

“I think this fight was with them because they had driven them out and they wanted to come back.”

Cops are appealing for witnesses.
