DEAN HENDERSON stayed at home while his Manchester United teammates flew to Australia on Sunday, ahead of an expected loan move to Sheffield United.
The Blades won promotion to the Premier League as the young keeper starred last season and want him back between the posts.
David de Gea was joined by senior back-ups Lee Grant and Sergio Romero on the trip down under, along with 23-year-old shot-stopper Joel Pereira.
Thus, with United well stocked in that department, Henderson is set to get his chance in the top-flight at Brammal Lane.
Manager Chris Wilder explained the situation earlier in the month.
He noted that the keeper, 22, is first seeking to secure his long-term future at Old Trafford.
“He wants his United contract sorted out first of all but, in terms of putting another temporary deal in place, I think we’re in a good place with that one,” said Wilder.
However, Sun Sport revealed in June that Henderson is seeking a bumper contract with the intent of one day unseating de Gea.
